Following a weather delay at Augusta National Golf Club, the group of Woods, Day, and Homa teed off late. However, it was Day's unusual attire that caught the attention of viewers.
"I thought Jason Day's pants were pretty sick today," tweeted one fan. "But they also legit seemed like a competitive disadvantage. Basically like wearing two giant navy parachutes."
"Jason Day's pants are so baggy, he could fit a whole other golfer in there with him," joked another.
Day's unconventional fashion choice became a trending topic on Twitter, with many fans speculating about the inspiration behind the pants.
"Maybe he's trying to channel the spirit of Payne Stewart," suggested one fan, referring to the late American golfer who was known for his eccentric wardrobe.
Despite the attention his pants garnered, Day played well on Thursday, shooting a 1-under 71. He is currently tied for 14th place heading into the second round.
