During the winter of 1991, Croatia found itself in a desperate struggle for survival as it faced an invasion by the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). The JNA, backed by Serbian nationalist forces, sought to crush Croatia's fledgling independence movement.A Determined Resistance

Nina Batinic, Marin Blazevic, and Sandra Dekanic were just three of the many brave individuals who played crucial roles in Croatia's defense.Batinic, a nurse, provided medical care to wounded soldiers and civilians. Blazevic, a former army officer, organized and led guerrilla resistance units. Dekanic, a journalist, used her voice to rally support for Croatia's cause.
Together, they and countless others fought tirelessly against the JNA. They endured harsh winter conditions, fought in fierce street battles, and never gave up hope.
