Stones And Haaland On Target As City Down Former Club

Manchester City's Comeback Kid Haaland Stuns Dortmund

Stones and Haaland on Target as City Down Former Club

Erling Haaland's magnificent strike capped a dramatic Manchester City comeback as the Premier League champions overturned a one-goal deficit to defeat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

John Stones had earlier equalized for City after Jude Bellingham had given the visitors a first-half lead, but it was Haaland's stunning winner in the 84th minute that sealed the victory and sent the Etihad Stadium into raptures.

The Norwegian striker, who spent two seasons at Dortmund before joining City in the summer, met Joao Cancelo's cross with a perfectly executed volley that flew into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Gregor Kobel with no chance.

Haaland's goal was his 13th in just 10 games for City, and it continued his remarkable scoring form since his move to England. The 22-year-old has now scored in each of his last seven games for Pep Guardiola's side, and his goals have been crucial in City's strong start to the season.

City's victory over Dortmund was their second in a row in the Champions League, and it moved them to the top of Group G. They will be looking to maintain their winning streak when they travel to Copenhagen for their next match on October 5.
