An American Airlines flight headed for Connecticut made an emergency landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) on Wednesday morning, April 2023.

According to reports, American Airlines Flight 2392, which was scheduled to depart for Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, experienced an engine issue shortly after takeoff.

The flight crew made the decision to return to RDU and land the aircraft immediately. The plane touched down safely around 8:40 AM following a controlled descent.

Runway Closure and Emergency Response

The emergency landing caused the closure of runways at RDU for approximately 10 minutes.

Emergency services, including the Raleigh-Durham Fire Department and Wake County Emergency Management, responded to the scene out of precaution but no injuries have been reported.

Passenger Statement

"We heard a loud noise and then the plane started shaking," said one passenger on the flight, who wished to remain anonymous.
